Always fast, always friendly.
No better breakfast in the West burbs than the Blackout Special, torta and michelada.
Inside recently remodeled as well!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Dec 6, 2018Previous reviewGreat little place hidden in the strip mall next to the sex toy emporium. Quick, friendly service. Great fresh food and MICHELADAS. This alone eclipses Tapatio down the block. Go.

Visited the location in Melrose Park first before realizing there was a location much nearer to home! At the former location, they give free spicy carrots/peppers. Here, they give free chips and salsa! The menu is large with so many choices. I ordered 1 shrimp taco and 1 fish taco. Hubbie ordered beef fajitas with horchata. The food was excellent. The portions were generous and we brought a good amount of the fajitas home, which afforded us lunch the next day. The shrimp taco was one of the best I've had. I think it was because of the delicious citrus+mayo sauce. Service was excellent.

We don't know of that many eateries with parrillada and we stumbled upon this one by chance and it is definitely a keeper. The menu states the portion is good for three people but the four of us adults and two young children had plenty of leftover to take home. The parrillada was piled with shrimp, chicken, pork, and steak in addition to vegetables and fries. The meat texture was tender and well-grilled. There was something for everyone.
We also tried the horchata, al pastor tacos, quesadilla with grilled chicken, and guacamole with chips. Everything was excellently executed and efficiently served. We will be back!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Don T.Country Club Hills, IL41125May 14, 2024
So, I picked this place to try because I'm familiar with the chain and they have decent above average tacos. But I decided to try a burrito and oh boy...this particular location has the best steak burrito I've ever had. The service is excellent when they're not swamped, and the vibe is pretty chill. They also make some of the best margaritas around, but they're a bit pricey relative to what everything else costs there. Go there and grab a steak burrito, extra steak, extra sour cream, easy lettuce, and enjoy one of the hidden gems of the Chicagoland area.

We love the Los Comales in Bridgeview, but can't always make our way out there now that we've moved. We decided to try the Lombard location. It did not disappoint!
We originally planned on ordering a carne asada dinner each, but saw the parillada on the menu for around $50. It said it feeds 3, they lied. It feeds around 4-6 people based on how we ate. It's immense!
The parillada includes Carne asada, Al pastor, chorizo, shrimp, steak milanesa, chicken milanesa, onions and peppers, jalapeños, grilled green onions and French fries. Served with rice, beans, salad, and tortillas. Literally something for everyone! I tried all the proteins and all the veg, everything was very well prepared, hot, and delicious!
There are three different salsas on the table, red, green, and avocado based, and the pico that came with the chips was great! It had a kick, but we love spicy food.
It was supposed to be a quick lunch on a Sunday, so we didn't try any of the drinks, but the bar was also very cute. Next time, margaritas all around!
The restaurant itself was neat and clean. My husband likes the faux grass wall treatment so much that he's talking about doing it in our home. I'm actively trying to talk him out of it. It's cute there, but not really for me.
Our waitress was wonderful, attentive without hovering. She really seemed to care whether or not we liked our food and were enjoying ourselves.
We'll be back, probably with friends so we can try to conquer the parillada!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Business owner information

Pearl M., thank you for sharing your enthusiastic review of Los Comales in Lombard. It's wonderful that you ventured to try this location and found it to be a delightful experience. The parillada you ordered, meant for three but serving 4-6 people, sounded like a feast with its diverse selection of proteins and sides. The variety of salsas and pico with a kick added to the culinary experience. It's great to hear that the restaurant was neat and your waitress was attentive without hovering, ensuring your enjoyment. Your intention to return with friends to conquer the parillada and try the margaritas speaks volumes about your positive experience. Forgot to review on Valentine's Day, but that's just because of how full and happy we were after this DELICIOUS meal we had.
They seriously have some of the best tacos, this is for sure my favorite Comales location. Staff is always friendly and a good spot. Ambiance is nice, nothing too crazy.
Their horchata is BOMB!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Nice to meet a taco Tuesday lover! Thank you so much for the 5-star rating Alice. See you soon. - AR
Oct 4, 2022Previous reviewLos Cómales is STILL the best Taco Tuesday around. We have been ordering take out for almost a year, and recently started eating "in house" for a change. Either take out or at the restaurant...food is amazing! Staff is ALWAYS friendly and attentive no matter how busy they are. If you love tacos, want a taco Tuesday deal (2.00/taco CASH only) this is the place for you!!!
Oct 28, 2021Previous reviewExcellent taco Tuesday deals. Rice and beans are really really good. Tacos are really really good too. Haven't had any other menus items, but I'm sure they are just as good as their Taco Tuesday food!

You simply have better options elsewhere. The Melrose park location is much better. Food is subpar. Extra charges for pickled veggies and salsas.

Finally some legit Mexican food! Oh man, you don't know how happy we were to find this restaurant after many letdowns.
We've been here a couple times and tried the burritos, tacos, and taco salads of different proteins. My favorite by far is the al pastor. Soooo flavorful and perfectly cooked with a nice char on it, and some pieces are even crispy which provides a change in texture. The lengua, asada and chorizo are delicious as well. Least favorites would probably be bistec and fish tacos, unfortunately they were a bit bland so I'd probably pass on those. The burritos are generously packed with meat of choice, lettuce, sour cream, rice and more, all that goodness. But also avocado !!! I was so surprised because the taquerias in the city where I'm from would charge for avocado lol. Extra kudos. My (Mexican) bf really enjoys their rice and beans, and says it's comparable to the way his mom cooks it. They also make great micheladas, which are perfect to cure a hangover along with a burrito. 10/10 recommend al pastor burrito!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 1 - Michael K.Lombard, IL06Mar 11, 2024
Authentic, but will cook you gringo style if you request it. Atmosphere is cute. Feels like home. We came from the city and so happy to find a place like this in the suburbs.
